Day 1: Building a PowerPoint Presentation
On the first day of class, we'll work on some basic PowerPoint functions, such as adding, duplicating and deleting different types of slides in a presentation. We'll also take a look at using PowerPoint templates.
Day 2: Customizing Your Text
On the second day of your PowerPoint online class, we'll work with customizing the message of your PowerPoint presentation by editing text placeholders, working with bulleted lists, slide content, formatting text boxes and more.
Day 3: Working with Images, Shapes & WordArt
On this day of your online PowerPoint class, you'll learn some useful tips on how to control images, pictures and shapes. You'll improve the way you use and organize images with text and how to properly combine images and text.
Day 4: Inserting Tables to Your Presentation
Here, you'll explore the different types of tables you can use while working on a PowerPoint presentation. You'll learn how to customize and format your tables and how spreadsheets can be included in a presentation.
Day 5: How to Include Charts In Your Presentation
In this PowerPoint lesson, you'll learn how to insert, customize and use charts during your presentation. Charts will help you drive a point as you present so we'll spend some time formatting our charts and using charts from Excel as well.
Day 6: How to Use SmartArt In Your Presentations
We will finalize our discussion around adding graphics to your PowerPoint presentation. You'll learn how to insert SmartArt, customize SmartArt and how to use it during a presentation.
Day 7: How to Build Your Own PowerPoint Template
In this online PowerPoint class, you'll learn how to create sections in your presentation, how to build your own, custom PowerPoint template, how to modify your notes and add Headers & Footers for your printouts.
Day 8: How to Insert Media & Animations
During Day 8 of our PowerPoint class, you'll learn how to insert, link and embed media into your presentation. We will also cover how to include and use animations and transitions in your slides.
Day 9: Tools to Collaborate in PowerPoint
In this lesson, you'll learn how to use various tools to help you communicate with others who contribute to your presentation. Learn how to include comments and review and compare presentations.
Day 10: Finalizing & Presenting Your Slide Show
In this lesson, you'll learn how to use links, action buttons, annotations and transitions to improve the delivery of your presentation.

Joseph Ferrantelli has a Doctorate and Masters in Educational Leadership. He began teaching in 1982. He began working at Wagner College as an adjunct professor in 1984 and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Hunter College in 2014, where he teaches education courses. At Wagner, he teaches in two departments; The Nicolais School of Business, where he wrote the graduate and undergraduate Excel course curriculums and taught Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint for the Math and Computer Science Department.

Does the PowerPoint class use pre-recorded videos or are these live sessions?
The online PowerPoint class is live and does not use pre-recordings unless it's part of a homework assignment.
Are the online PowerPoint sessions recorded?
Yes. The online PowerPoint sessions are recorded so that attendees can have access to the recordings afterwards. This is helpful for any students who happen to miss a class. They get a chance to view the recordings by accessing the Class page.
What happens if I miss one of the sessions? Will I get access to the recording?
Yes. The online PowerPoint sessions are recorded so that attendees can have access to the recordings in case they can't attend one of their classes on a given day.
Does this online PowerPoint class include a Certificate?
Yes. Students will earn their Microsoft PowerPoint certificate upon completing a final exam after the last day of class.
What version of Microsoft PowerPoint do I need to attend this class?
The instructor for the PowerPoint class uses PowerPoint 2019 and PowerPoint 365. We recommend that students use PowerPoint 2016, PowerPoint 2019 or PowerPoint 365.
I Use Microsoft PowerPoint 2010. Should I still register for this online PowerPoint class?
Yes. Although our instructors will use newer versions of Microsoft PowerPoint to facilitate the online PowerPoint class, students can use older versions of PowerPoint and follow along with little obstacles. However, there are some differences between what is taught in the class and what students of previous PowerPoint versions may experience.
I Use Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac. Can I still take your PowerPoint class?
Our instructors use PowerPoint for Windows and as we know, there are major difference in the user experience between Mac users and Windows users. Many of our PowerPoint students have taken the class, as Mac users, and have been able to follow along smoothly.
What happens after I register for your online class for PowerPoint? What can I expect?
Once you register for one of our online PowerPoint classes, you will have access to our Welcome video which will provide you with instructions on how to log in to our website. Additionally, you will receive a welcome email and your username and password to our website. Finally, you should expect an email with your receipt. As the first day of your Microsoft PowerPoint class gets closer, you will receive communication via email on how to access the classes from your instructor.
How will I know where to access the online class?
Registrants will receive emails with the Zoom link to access the live sessions. Additionally, reminders will be emailed prior to the live sessions.
Unfortunately, the dates of your online class do not work for me. When will there be another PowerPoint online class?
